What is Scoliosis Specific Exercise?
Scoliosis specific exercise is known to be Schroth Therapy. The Schroth Best Practice program is the recent development of the original program provided by the Grandson of Katharina Schroth. Schroth Best Practice Program by Dr. Weiss is a registered trademark. The method is non surgical and is customized specifically for each individual patient which contains corrective exercises. These exercises are aimed towards returning the curved spine to a more natural position by de-rotating, elongating and stabilizing the spine in a three-dimensional plane.
What are the benefits?
The main goal is to prevent to scoliosis from worsening saving cost avoiding surgery. Depending on your age range, degree of curvature and bone maturity, bracing may be included in the treatment.

What to expect?
Specific exercises are provided based on the curve patterns and severity, as well as the patients function and mobility. The goal is create awareness of the new posture and alignment through position, repetitions and breathing. Exercises are designed to reduce the flat back and rib prominence and restore alignment of the pelvis. Exercise positions may be modified in order to create the optimal position for the patient.
Our practitioners will guide the patient with tactile stimulus so the patient has an understanding of where they need to breath and elongate to create muscle activation in to correct the curve.
